European Champion Clubs Cup
The “European Champion Clubs Cup” (ECCC) is a major sporting event featuring 26 teams—12 in the men’s category and 14 in the women’s category—competing as the National Champions of their respective countries.
The European Cup is always held in the spring, typically during the last weekend of May. As these are early dates in the athletic calendar, performance marks can sometimes be affected; however, for many athletes, it represents the first high-level competition of the season. The event has only been cancelled once, in 2017. On that occasion, the Cup had been awarded to the Turkish city of Mersin, but the political and social situation near the Syrian border led the participating clubs to decline travel, prompting the European Association to cancel the edition.
Castelló and the Gaeta Huguet
facilities will serve as the venue where the top clubs from across the continent will vye for the European title. Playas de Castellón will act as the host club, with its men’s team contending strongly for the championship.
In total, approximately 450 athletes will gather in Castellón to participate in the 20 scheduled events for each category. The European Cup will take place on May 23rd and 24th, offering athletics fans a unique opportunity to see the continent’s elite athletes up close.

Information Desks
The Information Desks will be located in the lobby of Hotels with qualified personnel offering relevant information about all aspects of the European Champion Clubs Cup Track & Field Senior Group A.
The Information Desks opening hours will be as follows, from 23 to 27 May:
- Thursday 23 May 08:00-22:00 (depending on arrivals)
- Friday 24 May 08:00-22:00 (depending on arrivals)
- Saturday 25 May 08:00-22:00
- Sunday 26 May 08:00-22:00
- Monday 27 May 08:00-12:00 (depending on departures).

COSTS AND EUROPEAN ATHLETICS QUOTA
According to the competition regulations, you are asked to pay the registration fee of EUR 1000 (at the latest by the date of the closing preliminary entries – XXX February 2026) to the LOC’s bank account, with the details listed below.In addition, the clubs are required to pay a contribution for accommodation expenses apart from the aforementioned registration fee.
An amount of EUR XXX shall be paid by each team to the organizer (by the bank transfer to the LOC’s account mentioned above or upon arrival on site at the latest) in order to partially support accommodation costs, considering three (3) night’s accommodation.
The LOC is to cover full board accommodation costs of each participating team for 3 (three) nights maximum, for the number of quota team members, which is 22 athletes and 4 officials per team.
The full board accommodation costs for out-of-quota team members and/or extra nights are the following (per night/person):
– EUR XXX in twin occupancy
– EUR XX in single occupancy
Single room requests will be considered according to the availability.
Entries
Preliminary Entries
- Opening on Tuesday 5 February and closing on Wednesday 20 February 2019 (14:00 CET).
Final Entries
- Opening on Tuesday 30 April and closing on Wednesday 15 May 2019 (14:00 CET).
Final Confirmation
- Forms for the final declaration and confirmation will be sent in advance to all teams by email and distributed to each delegation during accreditation. The forms must be completed and returned immediately or no later than 24 MAY 16:00 h. CET. Any club foreseeing to arrive later than this deadline shall confirm the respective team´s participation via email to eccc@european-athletics.org.
Withdrawal
Withdrawal of any confirmed athlete must be indicated to the TIC at the Stadium in writing on the official withdrawal form.
TRAVEL
The official airports of the event are Castellón Airport (around 25 km from the city of Castellón) as well Manises/Valencia Airport (about 90 km from the city of Castellón). Upon arrival to the airport, the teams will be met by the LOC staff.
PAYMENT PROCEDURES
All payments must be made in cash or by bank transfer.
An invoice will be sent in advance to each club detailing the amount they owe based on their final entries. Advance payments should be made in euros by bank transfer to the following account:

Note: A copy of the bank transfer will be required upon arrival.
The balance of the payment must be paid by the Team Leader on arrival at the hotel by cash in Euros.
The team leader must settle any extra charges (bar, laundry, telephone etc.) at the hotel reception desk, before departure. The team leader will be requested to provide a credit card at the time of checking in at the reception desk to cover any extras or eventual caused damage by the team.
Venue
The Competition venue is Complejo Deportivo Gaetà Huguet. (Playas de Castellón, Club Atletismo – Google Maps)
There are 2800 of seats in the stadium.
The stadium has the following competition sites:
- 8 lanes,
- 1 High Jump site
- 2 Pole Vault sites
- 1 site for Long/Triple Jump
- 2 Shot Put Circles
- 1 Combined Discus/Hammer Circle,
- 2 Javelin sites
The Warm up area has the following sites:
- 6 lanes on the straight (indoor)
- 500m artificial grass,
- A weightlifting room.
- There are no separate throwing or jumping warm up areas.
